privateequity.tools is a directory and resource hub for the private equity industry — a place to find the firms, platforms, and tools that make up the modern PE landscape. This newsletter is the editorial companion to that: an independent publication about private equity and the technology reshaping it.

Every issue sits at the intersection of three forces changing the industry:

  • Insights — clear, opinionated analysis of how firms actually source deals, win them, and create value.
  • Tools — the software, data, and platforms modern firms rely on across sourcing, diligence, portfolio operations, and reporting.
  • AI in PE — how artificial intelligence is rewiring deal origination, underwriting, and the daily work of the modern investor.

It's written for investors, operators, founders, and the people building the next generation of tools for the asset class — no jargon for its own sake, no press releases dressed up as analysis.

Our Mission

Private equity runs on relationships, but it's increasingly won or lost on infrastructure — who has the better data, the faster workflow, the sharper edge in sourcing and diligence. Most coverage of the industry either stays high-level (deal news, fund closes) or gets buried in vendor marketing. privateequity.tools exists to fill that gap: to give the people actually doing the work — associates, principals, operators, founders building for this space — a clear-eyed, practitioner-level view of how the industry is changing and what's worth paying attention to.

We're not selling software and we're not writing press releases. We're trying to build the resource we wished existed when we were sourcing deals ourselves — one that treats the reader as someone who already knows the business and just wants the signal without the noise.
